Today, i would like to share to my readers on the new Toyota Corolla Altis which just launched by UMW Toyota on 13th March.    This fully imported car is introduced by UMW Toyota will be replacing the 7 years old Corolla Altis model. It is the 10th generation of Corolla and it deemed to be sleeker as the height has reduced and also bigger in size. If you compare the new Corolla Altis with the Camry and Vios, you can notice alot of similiarity between this 3 car or in another words, they have the same DNA. We can expect this design as a trend in Toyota sedan.   Compare with the old genaration Corolla, the new generation had gain 10mm in lengh and 55mm in width! The height had reduced by 15mm. The aerodynamic of new Corolla also had been improved as Toyota intends to make the new generation Corolla to become more fuel saving, improved high speed stability and also reduced wind noise. Toyota did this by designing the A-pillars shape, windshield wipers, flush mounted windscreen glass to achieve better aerodynamics.  Toyota had developed new dual VVT-i engine. However, this new Corolla Altis are using the same engine as its older generation. The 1.8L version are powered by 1ZZ-FE engine which produce 132ps of power at 6,000rpm with maximum torque of 170Nm at 4,200rpo. While the 1.6L version is powered by 3ZZ-FE engine which produce 109ps at 6,000rpm and having its peak torque of 145Nm at 4,400rpm. Both engine variance are mated with 4 speed auto gearbox with gate shifter lever. However, the 1.8G version will get the sequential gear which you can perform manual shifting.   The suspension also did remains the same with the old generation Corolla Altis with a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. Brakes are ventilated discs at the front and solid discs at the rear.  Interior wise, the dashboard of the Corolla is updated with some clever ideas. Such as a second storage compartment on the position of passenger's airbag. Besides that, all version of new corolla will also get a multi-info display which can display the current fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, range of KM left before empty, average KM/H, elapsed time and also outside temperature. All 1.8 version also comes with foldable rear seat!    The 1.6E, 1.8E and 1.8E sporty get a normal meter panel while the 1.8G and 1.8G sporty will get optitron meter! The 1.8L models will get automatic climate control while the 1.6E will only get manual air conditioning. The 1.8G and 1.8G Sporty also featuring electronic 8 way adjustable seat. The rear seat centre hump also had been flatten which will provides more space for the passenger to move their leg.     There is 5 variant to choose from with 2 engine option. The 1.6E, 1.8E, 1.8G, 1.8E Sporty, 1.8G Sporty. The car are available in 5 colours which is Silver Metallic, Medium Silver Metallic, Black Mica, Beige Metallic and Greyish Blue Metallic.
